The shape of Chunmee is said to be like the arch of an eyebrow, hence the word mee or mei means eyebrow. Chunmee is translated as Precious Eyebrow.
The leaves are handrolled in a traditional fashion, and panfried requiring great skill, as the final product is considered a work of art. Patience, hand-eye coordination, temperature control and timing achieve a fine jade colour leaf, and a mellow yellowish brew.
